At Ari (formerly Arrival AI), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Ari: AI Coach mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: Name and email address when you create an account via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
Profile Information: Optional profile details you choose to add
Voice Input: Voice recordings of your coaching sessions and challenges you share
Session Content: Topics discussed, scenarios selected, and preferences you indicate

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
Usage Data: App interactions, features used, session duration, and navigation patterns
Performance Data: Crash reports and diagnostic information to improve app stability
Generated Content: AI-generated podcasts, transcriptions, and personalized recommendations created for you

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

Provide Core Services: Enable voice coaching sessions with AI coaches
Generate Personalized Content: Create custom podcasts, curated video recommendations, and learning resources tailored to your needs
Process Voice Data: Transcribe and analyze your voice input to provide relevant coaching and insights
Track Progress: Save your session history and generated content for future reference
Improve Services: Analyze usage patterns to enhance app functionality and user experience
Provide Support: Respond to your questions, comments, and support requests
Send Notifications: Deliver relevant updates about your sessions and new content (with your permission)

3. Device Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

Microphone: Required for voice coaching sessions. Audio is processed in real-time and transcribed via third-party AI services.
Speech Recognition: Used to capture and transcribe your voice input during coaching sessions.
Photo Library: Optional access to save generated podcast cover images to your device.

Important: Voice recordings are processed in real-time for transcription and coaching purposes. Raw audio is NOT permanently stored on our servers after processing.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services to provide app functionality:

4.1 OpenAI

Purpose: Real-time voice transcription, AI coaching conversations, and content generation
Data Shared: Voice audio (temporarily), conversation text, session context

Purpose: User authentication, cloud storage for generated content, and analytics

Data Shared: Search queries based on your session topics (anonymized)

4.4 Railway (Backend Hosting)

Purpose: Host our backend services for content generation and data processing
Data Shared: Session data, generated content requests

5. Data Retention

Account Data: Stored until you request account deletion
Session History: Stored indefinitely for registered users; 60 days for anonymous users
Generated Podcasts: Stored until you delete them from your library
Analytics Data: Retained for 12 months
Voice Recordings: Processed in real-time and NOT retained as raw audio files

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Secure cloud storage via Firebase
Access controls and authentication
Regular security audits

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your personal information
Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data
Export: Download your data in a portable format
Opt-Out: Disable analytics and non-essential data collection

For EU Users (GDPR)

You have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to object to processing and data portability.

For California Users (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do NOT sell your data).

8. Children's Privacy

Ari is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

Posting the updated policy in the app
Updating the "Last Updated" date
Sending an email notification (for material changes)
